MSFS Media CENTERVIEW, Mo. (January 21) - Nearly everyone involved with the excitement of racing goes through withdrawals during the off-season. Although there are a few opportunities for race enthusiasts to get their racing fix during the winter months, nothing equals the camaraderie of mingling with fellow members of the race community. This and so much more may be accomplished at the 12th Annual Bodee's Racer's Auction and Trade Show at the Mathewson Center, on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri. This year's event is on Saturday and Sunday, January 30/31, beginning at 8 a.m. daily. Admission is just ten dollars. Everyone attending the auction and trade show will find something to their liking. Various tracks and race organizations will have schedules and rules available, vendors will offer a wide range of products and catalogs, and drivers will have the opportunity to register for the 2010 race season with tracks and organizations. Most importantly, bidders will participate with confidence in the auction to acquire all needed parts for the coming race season.
"The auction is the largest in the entire state of Missouri and one of the biggest in the Midwest" stated event organizer Jason Bodenhamer, who is known throughout the racing community simply as Bodee. Not only has Bodee kept busy with preparing for the auction, he is also gearing up to be a first-time race promoter. Recently, it was announced he will co-promote the newly reopened Missouri State Fair Speedway. "Coupled with the reopening of the 'Historic Half Mile' and the early auction and trade show response, I believe this year's event is shaping up to be the biggest in the twelve-year history" stated Bodenhamer. "Lot numbers have already exceeded 1,700 and will be cut off at 2,000. Although the economy has been and remains on the minds of nearly everyone, last year's auction was a big success and I expect nothing less this year. A large range of buyers and sellers will make their way to the event from as far south as Shreveport, Louisiana to as far north as Minnesota. I want to assure auction bidders they can bid with confidence because there is a guarantee placed on parts, something that is unique at our auction verse similar auctions," stated Bodenhamer.
Saturday events feature a special 100-lot section of strictly brand-new race merchandise from G&G Speed Shop's closeout sale. A Dirt Track Chassis Seminar presented by champion late model driver Al Purkey follows the auction in the Mathewson Center from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Admission for the seminar is $50, which will be collected at the door. Participants will receive an informational booklet covering Late Models, Modifieds, and Street Stocks as well as chassis theories and designs. Payment may be rendered in advance by sending payment and driver information to Bodee's, 680 NW M Cty Rd, Centerview, MO 64019. Following the seminar Saturday evening, the celebration continues at Sedalia City Limits with live entertainment.
Complete motors, a large inventory of parts and accessories, consign rolling race cars, and race trailers await the bidders. Special consignments from large dirt late model race teams include those of Gary Gorby of Caney, Kansas; Al Purkey of Coffeyville, Kansas; and Jack's Engine and Machine of Eerie, Kansas. As of press time, vendors included Chase Race Decals, Milestone Marketing, Speed Custom & Performance, Alliance Motorsports, RaceMart, FastShafts, Studio 25 Race Helmets, Scotty Roberts Race Decals and AMSOIL Race Products. Additionally, personnel from various speedways and race organizations including LA Raceway, Central Missouri Speedway, Lucas Oil Speedway, ULMA, and MLRA will be on hand. The Missouri State Fair Speedway booth will feature decals, mugs, steins, shirts, hats, and the track's general competition rules, car class rules, and tentative schedule. Attendees will also get a first glimpse of the huge 2010 Missouri State Fair Speedway track champion trophies.
Consignment check-in and vendor booth setup takes place on January 28/29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Auction terms of sale include Cash, Visa, Master Card, Cashier Checks, and Bank Letters of Credit. Personal checks are not accepted. For additional information, to rent booth space, or obtain lot numbers, call Bodee at (816) 230-8322 or (816) 522-8343.
