Eric Westendorf SARVER, Penn. (January 14) - Despite the frigid temperatures and snow covered everything, the 2010 season of Don Martin's Lernerville Speedway is just over two months away! Lernerville's 2010 schedule is once again headlined by the Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com and the Cleveland Brothers CAT Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30s, and anchored by Fab Four Racing on Friday Nights from March 26 until August 27.
As always, the 2010 season will begin by celebrating the 2009 season at the Annual Lernerville Awards Banquet on Saturday February 27 at the Days Inn in Butler, PA. The preseason kicks off the following two weekends with car shows at the Clearview Mall (March 4-6) and the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills (March 11-13).
A Test & Tune practice session is scheduled for Saturday March 20, followed by Opening Night 2010 of Fab Four Racing on Friday March 26. The first four Fridays of April are slated for Budweiser Points events for all four divisions of Fab Four Racing. Friday April 23's Fab Four show will also include the first of three $2,000-to-win DIRTcar Challenge Sprint Series races. The first special show of 2010 will feature the All Stars Late Model Series on Friday April 30 for a $5,000-to-win show supported by DIRTcar Pro Late Models and UMP Modifieds. Three weeks later the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints roll into Sarvertown on Friday May 21 for a $5,000-to-win show supported by DIRTcar Pro Late Models and DIRTcar Sportsman.
The Action Track starts to crank up the heat in June with #1 Cochran Fan Appreciation Night with Fireworks on Friday June 11 and the Mid-Season Championships on Friday June 18; with Firecracker and Silver Cup provisionals on the line for the Late Models and Sprints.
Thursday-Saturday June 24-26 marks the 4th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com featuring the newly expanded three-day format. Thursday and Friday will be complete $6,000-to-win shows sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. The $30,000 finale will be contested on Saturday Night with 100 laps World of Outlaws Late Model racing! The Uncle Sam 30 will also be contested Saturday Night with $3,000 on the line for the winner.
The 19th installment of the World of Outlaws sanctioned Cleveland Brothers CAT Don Martin Memorial is scheduled for Tuesday July 20 and will once again feature the Twin 30s format introduced last season. Danny Lasoski claimed the first 30-lap feature and the overall Silver Cup Championship while Stevie Smith won the second 30 lapper. Both A-Mains featured wheel-to-wheel action with some of the best Sprint Car aces in the country!
The Diehl Auto Group DIRTcar Modifieds will take center stage that same week as the Joe Pitkavish Memorial is scheduled for Friday July 23. The second of three $2,000-to-win DIRTcar Challenge Sprint Series races will be contested on Friday July 30. And the UFo Late Model Series will return to the Action Track for the UFo Lunarville 33 v2.0 on Friday August 13.
The first of two School Bus and Kid's Bike Races is scheduled for Tuesday August 3 with an Enduro and Trailer Races to follow. That event is followed by the final four Friday Nights of Fab Four Racing with Budweiser Points ending on Championship Night Friday August 27.
The following Friday, Labor Day Weekend, September 3 is the ever popular All Stars Double Header, a.k.a. the Dual in the Dirt. The Dual in the Dirt features both the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints and the All Star Late Model Series.
The Action Track will then switch over to Saturday Nights for the final three weekends of September starting with the second School Bus and Kid's Bike Race on Saturday September 11, followed by the Autumn-Motive Fest featuring the Sportsman/Stock Spectacular and 100-Lap Enduro on September 18 and the Cleveland Brothers CAT Commonwealth Clash featuring the World of Outlaws Sprints on Saturday September 25.
The 2010 season will come to a close with the DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede on Thursday - Saturday October 21 - 23 featuring all four divisions of Fab Four Racing plus DIRTcar Pro Late Models, UMP Modifieds, 4 Cylinders and Mod Lites. Saturday Night's Sprint Car feature will also be the finale of the DIRTcar Challenge Sprint Series.
Throughout the course of the 2010 season, the following promotional nights are scheduled; Easter Egg Extravaganza for kids on April 2, Silver Jacket Night on April 9 (all fans wearing the old school Lernerville Silver Jacket will be entered into a contest to win a free ticket to the Cleveland Brothers CAT Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XIX Twin 30s), Ladies Night on April 16, Breast Cancer Awareness Night on May 7, Armed Forces Night on May 14, Fire, EMS and Police Night on May 28, Schools out for Summer! Night on June 4, Youth Sports Night on July 2, Nostalgia Night on July 11, Dollar Dog Night on July 16, and Scout Night on August 20.
