CONCORD, N.C. (January 14) - After a successful end to the 2009 season with a standing-room-only crowd for the World of Outlaws World Finals, The Dirt Track @ Charlotte opens the 2010 season with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Showdown on May 28. This year's exciting schedule features six nights of racing highlighted by World of Outlaws sprint cars and late models.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Showdown on Friday night, May 28, is part of Coca-Cola 600 Week and features winged sprint cars with a crate late model support race. Sprint car legend Steve Kinser, four-time World of Outlaws series champion Donny Schatz and last year's Sprint Car Showdown winner, Joey Saldana, will likely be among those competing for a trip to Victory Lane at The Dirt Track.

The region's only outdoor Monster Truck event will return to The Dirt Track on Aug. 14, for the 11th annual Circle K Back-to-School Monster Truck Bash. The evening will include a series of one-on-one elimination races over a radical obstacle course, and the gigantic vehicles will also battle in an extreme freestyle competition.

The World of Outlaws Late Model Showdown on Wednesday night, Oct. 13, kicks off NASCAR Banking 500 Week. World of Outlaws Late Model Series stars Steve Francis, Josh Richards, Chub Frank and Shane Clanton are expected to compete for the top prize.

The four-tenths-mile clay oval closes its season with the return of the World of Outlaws World Finals for the fourth-consecutive year. In addition to the World of Outlaws sprint cars and late models, this year's World Finals will be even more action-packed than before with the addition of the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modified drivers. All three series will come together to crown their respective series champions in the three-day event held Nov. 4-6.

In addition to all the electrifying racing slated to take place at The Dirt Track @ Charlotte in 2010, a dirt track ride-a-long program will be offered to enhance the fans' experiences.
