SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (January 12) - After just releasing the tentative 2010 season schedule, owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland of the Springfield Raceway have made a switch in the schedule as Fireworks will be going off 1 week before the 4th of July Holiday Weekend.

On Sat Night June 26th for the first time ever at Springfield Raceway the MARS Super Late Models will be going against the MLRA Super Late Models in a 50 lap event with the running of the John Kuntz Memorial.

"While both series are top notch, we feel this challenge co-sanctioned event will give the fans the best regional Late Model event around." quoted Jerry Hoffman.

Both Series have some of the same drivers that follow the Late Model Regional Series, but this will bring the Best of both Series around to see who has the best that evening.

This will be the first of 2 co-sanctioned events as the Sept. 18 Larry Phillips Memorial event will feature both MARS and MLRA traveling Stars.

In changing the date and moving the Late Model race up 1 week, this will now put the July 3rd night as a regular points show with the A-Mods racing for $750 to win along with the regular racing classes.
