Ben Shelton FULTON, Miss. (January 7) - The 2009 NeSmith Late Model Series National Champion, Eric Cooley, will kick off his 2010 season this weekend in the 19th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track.
Fresh off a great 2009 season, Eric is eager to get the 2010 season underway, and he will do so in his #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jeff Burns Racing Engine Super Late Model. Despite having limited seat time in a Super Late Model, Cooley has already enjoyed some success behind the wheel as he qualified for the main event in the prestigious Cotton Pickin' 100 at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) late last season.
He will be looking to add to his Super Late Model accolades this weekend as he invades Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama for the 19th Annual Ice Bowl, which boasts a $6,000 winner's purse. Cooley has competed in a pair of Ice Bowls in the past, but only in the Crate Late Model and Sportsman divisions. Cooley's debut in the Super Late Model at Talladega Short Track will get underway on Friday, January 8th with an Open Practice Session. On Saturday, January 9th, time trials and heat races will be held, while Sunday, January 10th will see b-mains and the $6,000 to win finale.
