SUTTON TAKES SLM TUNE-UP FOR 'ROAD TO DEGA' AT GREEN VALLEY SPEEDWAY

GLENCOE, Ala. (April 17) - In preparation for next Thursday night's ROAD TO DEGA 2 event at Green Valley Speedway, Lil' Lee Sutton of Taylorsville, Georgia took the checkers in the Super Late Model race Friday night. Fellow Georgia Anthony Hill started on the pole, with a dozen starters but it was 3rd starting Sutton getting the victory, the second of his SLM career passing Hill and outside FRONT ROW JOE local racer TJ Alford. Steven Endicott started 8th in the "A" Main Feature and came one position shy of his second career SLM victory. Sutton debuted his # L7 "Ladd's Farm Supply, Sutton Farms, Davis Septic Tank, RedTop Auto Auction" sponsored GRT / Race Engine Design powered machine Friday at GVS and is expected to return Thursday for the $2,500. to-WIN special SLM event. Behind Endicott was Alford, Brad Kennedy and Scott Hall respectfully.

In the Crate LM division it was Chris Noah of Boaz, AL taking the win. Tom Maddox and Gathan Burns rounded out the Top 3 of the 14, car field. Shane Criswell won the Limited Late Model feature. Shannan Dodson beat Destin Mince to the checkered flag in the Open Wheel feature. In other action Lewis Rakestraw won the Super Street feature, while Danny Whitten took the Hobby feature again. John Battles and Chris Hipp won their respective Pony features, while Jack Rayburn took the Cruiser class by storm. Kurtis Busby won the Hot Shots race. NASCAR and SPEEDTv star Kenny Wallace will race and sign autographs next Thursday, April 23rd at GVS during the ROAD TO DEGA 2 event.
