JAMAICA, Va. (September 19) - Sometimes its better to be lucky than good, at least that's what David Williams of Avenue, MD what Williams thought. With the cars on the starting grid pole sitter Roland Mann's car had to call it a night after his car leaked a puddle of oil ending his night without ever taking a lap. That moved Williams to the front row with Chris Stacy and with the green flag in the air and the cars barreling into turn 1 Williams shot out into the lead.

Williams held off challenges from Stephen Evans and then Anthony Kincaid in the closing laps to take home the 40th Annual Fall Classic victory at Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway.

"I have to thank Sommey Lacey and his wife for putting this deal together for this race, the track was in awesome shape and the car just ran flawless," commented Williams in Victory Lane.

Rounding out the top five were Anthony Kincaid, Sommey Lacey, Tom Cohick and Tyler Bailey.

In other action James Marshall of Saint Leonard, MD took home the Budweiser Modified feature taking the lead from Josh Harris on lap 4. In the 305 Sprint Car 25 lap feature Jeff Van Steenburg of West Shokan, NY led flag to flag in dominating fashion to take the win. In the Truckin Thunder Sportsman 30 lap feature Tim Shelton of Fredericksburg, VA took the lead from Tony Wood on lap 3 on way to the victory and in the Limited Stock Car 25 lap feature James Givens of New Kent, VA took the lead from Brett Adkins on lap 15, when Adkins car began to have engine trouble and went on for the win.

Before the feature would even begin things went bad for pole sitter Roland Mann as oil poured out of his car while sitting on the starting grid. That put David Williams and Chris Stacy leading the field to green in the Victory Lap Late Models 40 lap feature. Williams made it count as he rocketed to the lead and began to pull away from the second running Vaughan Haywood and the field.

On lap 4 Haywood jumped the cushion in turn 3 allowing Kincaid to get inside for second out of turn 4. On lap 5 caution would fly for Junior Carter as his car came to rest in turn 2. On the restart Williams now had company in the form of Kincaid but the car on the move was quick qualifier Stephen Evans who made his way to fourth.

On lap 12 Evans tried the outside of Kincaid out of turn 2 only to have the door slammed on him down the backstretch. Evans tried the inside on of Kincaid on lap 14 in turn 3 again having the door slammed on him by Kincaid. On lap 17 Kincaid Evans shot by Kincaid for the second spot and closed in on Williams. Evans slipped in turn 3 on lap 18 allowing Williams to get a three car length advantage.

Caution would come out on lap 23 as Evans came to a stop in turn 4 with mechanical issues. On the restart Kincaid tried to get inside Williams only to see Williams pull away as they exited out of turn 2.

Williams began the process of pulling away and worked to a full straight lead. The only things to slow Williams were several cautions, the final one coming with two laps to go. On the restart Kincaid right with Williams and coming to the white flag made one more attempt to get inside Williams for the lead. Williams was able to hold the spot and go on for the win. Rounding out the top five were Anthony Kincaid, Sommey Lacey, Tom Cohick and Tyler Bailey.
