SARVER, Penn. (August 21) - Gary Lyle and current Bud Points Leader Alex Ferree paced the Friedman's Freshmarkets DIRTcar Late Models to the green flag. Ferree, the Two-Time Defending Track Champion, jumped out to an early lead but Jared Miley was in hot pursuit from the fifth starting spot. By lap seven, Miley was up to third and blazing a trail to the front. On lap 10, Miley rocketed around the top of turns one & two to the lead down the back straightaway. Once out front, Miley began to pull away until lapped traffic entered the equation on lap 15. As Miley tried to navigate the slower cars, Ferree reeled him in and was all over his spoiler on lap 17. As the laps clicked off, it appeared as though Ferree did not have a groove to even try to make a pass. But when Miley went up in smoke on lap 24, Ferree was in the right place at the right time and inherited the lead for a green-white-checkered restart. Flanked by his only competitor in the Bud Points Chase Lynn Geisler, Ferree chose to restart on the outside pole to get a big run off turn four. The strategy paid off and Ferree pulled away from Geisler who had his hands full fighting off Doug Horton. The win is #17 of Ferree's career at Lernerville Speedway and third of the 2009 campaign.

Geisler crossed the stripe second after slamming the door on a late race slide job by Doug Horton; who finished third. Dave Murdick continues his hot streak of five straight Fab Four top five finishes by taking fourth. Gary Lyle avoided his recent run of bad luck to round out the top five. Spots six through ten went to last week's feature winner Kenny Schaltenbrand, Denton Boyer, John Garvin Jr., Chuck Sarver and Jim Detman. Heat race victors were Doug Horton and Gary Lyle. Despite Ferree's win, he only increased his lead by two points over Geisler who is still just 16 points behind with one race to go!
