Winchester Speedway
WINCHESTER, Va. (August 15) - Shane Coffey returned to the racetrack for the first time in a few months and was the early race leader as the Late Model feature took to the track. Denny Bonebrake, the veteran from Hagerstown, MD, began to move up in the race that featured only three cautions. On lap eleven Bonebrake secured the lead spot from Coffey and began to steadily pull away. Gerald Davis also was making a charge though and late in the race secured the runner up spot. The last caution flew with four laps to go and allowed the competitors one last shot at the strong Bonebrake machine. Bonebrake though was unassailed as he stormed to his second feature win of the year in the Late Model division. Gerald Davis finished his strong run with a second place finish. Shane Coffey despite losing the lead before halfway held on and finished on the podium with a third place, Allen Brannon and points leader Tommy Armel rounded out the top five. Bo Feathers and Kris Eaton took the heats for the 19 cars in attendance.
