PHENIX CITY, Ala. (August 15) - Larry Harrod drove his #27 Harrod Logging / BTR Scorpion to victory lane Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway for night two of the monster truck double header weekend. Harrod started the night off by claiming the Extreme Power Sports fast time award from there it was a repeat of Friday night with Harrod and Dana Eiland racing for the win. Harrod held Eiland off and led every lap to pick up the win ahead of Dana Eiland, Terrance Nowell, Scott Knowles and Rodgerick Dykes.
8-14-09 - In the Late Model Division once again the "Big Tree" Larry Harrod's hot streak was not about to end. Harrod timed in with the fastest time in Extreme Power Sports pole qualifying with a lap of 15.55 seconds. There were seventeen Late Models on hand to do battle for twenty laps in the feature event and what an exciting show they put on. Harrod started on the pole with Dana Eiland to his outside in second. When the green was waved Harrod lead the way going into turn one with Eiland in second, Terrance Nowell falling into third, Scott Knowles running forth and Rodgerick Dykes fifth. On lap 6 the caution was displayed for the off track excursion of Randy Hester in turn two. Hester rejoined the pack in the rear and we were ready for the green. Once again Harrod lead the parade into turn one Eiland this time was making some serious advance at the lead running the extreme low line in the turns trying to get an inside shot on Harrod. Third through fifth was running with some distance between them with a major battle taking place for the sixth, seventh, and eight positions. Matt Woodson who started the race eleventh had worked his way up to the sixth position moving Pat Wall in Seventh and Chase Edge in eighth. At the half way mark Harrod was still leading and had some distance over Eiland. Nowell was still riding third with Knowles and Dykes forth and fifth. Then with just five laps to go Eiland seemed to be making up ground on Harrod in turns four. Lap after lap Eiland slowly worked his way closer. Then with just three laps remaining Eiland was on Harrod's bumper and diving to the inside going into turn three. Coming out of turn four Eiland and Harrod battled door to door at the line. Unfortunately Eiland could not get enough of a run to pass Harrod. The next lap Eiland got loose and lost time on Harrod. Larry Harrod leading every lap and continuing show just how strong he is crossed the line first to take home the win. Dana Eiland was second with Terrance Nowell third, Scott Knowles forth, and Rodgerick Dykes holding off a hard charging Matt Woodson to take home fifth.
