Michael Despain JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (August 14) - Ponderosa Speedway presented the 2nd Annual Colston Paving 40 for the Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Model division on Friday evening and P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY would claim the $2,000 payday in the biggest event ever held at the track for the Pro Late Models. Other feature winners for the evening included Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman.
The 25 lap Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature event would go caution free as Dustin Linville would take the lead and would never look back in picking up the feature event win in the Bruce Barnes and Terry Linville owned Barnes and Davis Family Dentistry/Paul Benton Auto Body/Cox Wrecker Service/Cookie Monster Power Plants/BG Oil/Skillsaw Designs/Linville's Finish Carpentry/Lester Grider Trucking/Lanes Precast/Wayne Bowen Racing Supply/The Medicine Shoppe/Jump Start Communications sponsored #D8 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, Mike Bullock Race Engines powered machine. Johnny Wheeler would make a late run at Linville, but would settle for second, as Wheeler held of the advances of Jeff Watson, who would claim third. Michael Chilton would nip Bobby Carrier, Jr. on the last lap for fourth, with Carrier, Jr. finishing fifth. The remainder of the finish would be Jimmy Crabtree, Dale Matheny, and Jason Hinkle. Linville would be the top qualifier among nine entries at 13.713 seconds and would also win the heat.
