FARLEY, Iowa (August 14) - The kids were the true winners on Back to School night at Farley Speedway. Kids were greeted on their way in with a bag of school supplies, then got to scrabble for nickels and other change and got a chance to win dozens of bikes, size one hundred bills and other cool prizes. SPI would like to thank Drew Cook, East Dubuque Savings Bank and the many other sponsors.
Jeff Tharp used his pole position to take the race lead Friday night. After a early race restart Tharp and Jeremiah Hurst went side by side for the lead with Tharp holding him off. Tharp was not able to hold on for long when Hurst took over the lead on lap four. Hurst continued to lead through several cautions and took home the checkers ahead of Tharp, Andy Eckrich, Ron Klein and Jim Brokus.
Other feature wins were awarded to Terry Neal (I.M.C.A. Late Model), Brian Kammerude (Limited Stocks) and Patrick Quinn (Farley Flyers).
