PHENIX CITY, Ala. (July 25) - It was Q107.3 FM night at East Alabama Motor Speedway and "The Big Tree" Larry Harrod had a number one hit leading every lap en route to victory. In Extreme Power Sports pole qualifying it was Larry Harrod setting the fast time with a lap of 15:73 seconds with Dana Eiland timing in second fastest. With Harrod on the pole and Eiland second, last week's winner Richie Stephens who qualified third had his work cut out for him. When the green waved Harrod jumped out front with Stephens making quick work of Eiland to take over the second position. Harrod and Stephens started to put some distance between them and third running Eiland who was in a three car battle with Pat Wall and Scott Knowles. The running order would remain the same until lap 8 when Adam Brown went for a spin in turn 4. After Brown rejoined the pack the green was displayed once again and like before Harrod and Stephens started to pull away from the rest of the pack. Eiland was still holding on to the third position but Knowles was able to work his way past Wall for fourth. The race looked to be a battle of the front two cars with Stephens riding in the tire tracks of Harrod every lap. Then the rest of the field got a break on lap 15 when Gordy Scarbrough spun in turn 4 to bring out the caution. After Scarbrough rejoined the pack the stage was set for a five-lap dash. When the green flag waved Stephens had one chance in turn one as he took to the low side of Harrod trying to complete the pass off turn two. With Stephens losing time off two Scott Knowles made a power move quickly passing Eiland for third and Stephens for second. Pat wall also made it past Eiland to take over the forth position. Stephens was able to regain his momentum and catch Knowles on the last lap as the two battled door to door to the line. Harrod safely out front took the win. Richie Stephens was able to get back by Knowles to come home second. Scott Knowles was third, Pat Wall fourth, and Dana Eiland coming home fifth.
