DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 12) - The excitement of the Late Model feature event started off with three and four wide racing right at the start of the event. Jeff Larson took the early race lead with Mike Fryer and Jake Meier close behind. Fryer and Meier raced very close for the second position with Fryer being scored in second on lap five. But soon after on lap six Meier took second over. Larson moved the sleek black late model around the race track picking up a straight away lead over Meier in second by lap eight. Andy Eckrich used the lap 16 restart to his advantage to advance to the second position behind Larson. On lap 19 Larson's lead came to an end when he slowed going into turn 2 and entered the pits giving Eckrich the lead with Steve "Ace" Ihm and Meier behind him. Eckrich raced the low side while Ihm raced the high side, with Eckrich having the advantage until lap 22 when Ihm took over the race lead. A lap later Ihm got wobbly up top and Eckrich regained his race lead. Eckrich took home the main event win over Ihm, Meier, Darin Mish and Jill George.

More excitement was seen in the Stock Car feature right after the green flag flew with a side by side battle for the lead with Rick Brokus taking the race lead in front of Jon Poll. After a lap three restart Terry Rittmer was on the move and was scored second behind Brokus. A three wide battle arose for the lead between Brokus, Poll and Rittmer with Rittmer taking the lead on lap four. Rittmer continued to lead with two and three wide racing going on behind him. Poll tried one last time for the lead on lap 10 going side by side with Rittmer. Rittmer got the checkers about a half a car length in front of Poll. Rittmer took home the checkers in front of Jon Poll, Andrew Burk, Rick Brokus and Cory Brown.

Joe Zrostlick took home an impressive I.M.C.A. feature win Sunday night. I.M.C.A. Late Models made a special appearance at the Dubuque Speedway. They will join us again on August 30th at the Dubuque Speedway.

Other feature wins were awarded to Tim Current (B-Modified), Tyler Soppe (Limited Stock) and Josh Lave (Farley Flyers).
