Winchester Speedway
WINCHESTER, Va. (June 27) - Saturday night was a busy night at the Winchester Speedway, with a makeup feature for the U-Cars and the Kid's Bike Races along with heats and features for the regular five divisions saw a packed schedule for the night. A dry slick track produced the first win of the season for Denny Bonebrake, Kris Holliday would pick up number two on the season in the Limited Lates, Mike Rose scored the win in the Pure Stocks, Chuck Johnson returned to victory lane for the third time in the 4-Cylinders, Joe Blomquist and Josh Wilkins scored U-Car victories as well.

Denny Bonebrake jumped to the early lead of the Late Model feature event, looking for his first victory of the season. The feature event would only be slowed by one caution during the event which figured into the final rundown, that caution flew on lap seven of the 25 lap feature event. Following in second but losing steadily to the fleet Bonebrake machine was Walter Crouch with Wes Bonebrake and Gerald Davis following him. Coming up from the middle of the pack was Bo Feathers who began to charge to the front. As the laps wound down very quickly Feathers found himself battling the pair of Wes Bonebrake and Gerald Davis who found themselves locked into a battle for third place. Once surpassing Davis and then Bonebrake, Feathers charged up to the second place machine of Walter Crouch. But though Feathers quickly got by Crouch for second, time had run out and with no cautions in the final laps Denny Bonebrake cruised to his first win of the season with Feathers in second, Walter Crouch held onto a strong third place finish with Wes Bonebrake and Gerald Davis rounding out the top five. Points leader Tommy Armel would finish sixth on the evening. Heats for the 18 cars went to Bo Feathers and Tommy Armel.
