MANITOWOC, Wisc. (June 26) - With temperatures in the 80's, sunny skies, and a huge field of Sprint Cars and Late Models it was a race fans paradise Friday night at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway.  The race night was sponsored by Jerry's Bakery, Two Rivers, and the trophy sponsor was Zip Prints of Sheboygan.

The 25 lap Late Model feature was a Parker and Parker show.  Pete Parker (Kaukauna) and son, Paul Parker (Appleton), lined up side by side to start the show.  Pete took the lead for the first 5 laps and when they came around to be scored on lap 6 Paul was leading.  On lap 9, lapped traffic came into play.  The only caution of the race came on lap 19 for the car of Ralph Aschenbrenner (Oneida).  Paul Parker set the pace for the remainder of the race and finished in front of Pete Parker, Tom Naeyaert (Shawano), Craig Schueffner (Sheboygan Falls), and Tim Buhler (Glenbuelah).

The 15 lap Late Model B-Main saw pole sitter Ron Berna (Green Bay) take the lead for the first 4 laps.  On lap 5, Russ Scheffler (Pewaukee) took control of the race.  Caution came out on lap 9 for the car of the Dingel Brothers spinning in turn 4.  The only other caution of the race came two laps later for Eric Michaels (Cleveland) losing control of his ride and spinning in turn 2.  Scheffler claimed the victory and transferred to the A-Main along with Robert Cullen (Chilton), Berna, Kyle Odekirk (Waldo), Tim Carman (Sheboygan Falls), Jeff Sayler (Howards Grove), Jim Rychtik (Port Washington), and Ray Reiss (Kiel).
