ROME, Ga. (June 14) - Casey Roberts picked up the win and the $5,000 payday in Rome International Speedway's Super Late Model Championship race on Sunday Night.

Jody Knowles finished in the second spot with Clint Smith rallying for third. Jack Knowles finished in the fourth spot with Luther Jenkins rounding out the top five.

Smith led the pack from the start of the green flag until the first caution of the race on lap thirteen. Under that caution period, Smith would be informed that his right-rear tire was going flat. Smith would come in and change the tire, but have to re-start at the back.

This gave Roberts the advantage he needed, and he never looked back cruising to the victory.

In other Rome Speedway action, Oliver Gentry picked up the twenty-lap Limited Late Model victory over Rucker Orr in second and Mike McConnell third. Alan Brewer finished up the fourth position with Jeff Fields rounding out the top five.

Greg Ledford won the Super Bomber feature event over Roy Patterson in second and Tom Cleghorn third.

Dan Meadows won the Econo Bomber feature event over Daniel Brewer in second and Josh Pilcher third.

Ross Baines picked up the win in Pony Car action while Jack and Tammy Rayburn won the always exciting Cruiser car feature.

Fireworks on and off the racetrack will highlight the next event at Rome Speedway on Sunday June 28th. A $2,000 to win Super Late Model Championship event will take place along with racing in all other divisions. And to top it off a huge fireworks display will light up the sky over Rome International Speedway.
