CANEY, Kans. (June 13) - For the first time the MidwestDirt Late Model Series boasted a new winner June 13 at the Caney Valley Speedway. Wichita's Ryan McAninch made the most of his first trip to the 1/4 mile by taking the win on a lightning fast track.

Polesitter Ted Martin led the field to the green with Darrell Mooneyham to his outside. Mooneyham quickly took the lead and pulled away while Martin, Gary Gorby, Jimmy Segraves, and McAninch battled in the top 5. McAninch slowly started working his way to the front and by the halfway point was second as a caution flew for a spunout Zac Simmons in turn 4.

On the restart Mooneyham once again looked as if he'd pull away but McAninch worked the bottom to his advantage and with just under 10 laps remaining made a move on the backstretch to get past Mooneyham in turns 3 & 4. From there McAninch cruised to the win followed by Mooneyham, Chuck Comer, Segraves, and Gorby.

With his 3rd place finish Chuck Comer retains his points lead in the race for the inaugural championship. He also earned the night's hard charger award, after advancing 4 positions to finish 3rd from the start.

Racing is tentatively scheduled to take place June 27 at the Caney Valley Speedway. More information on this race will be released this week and will be posted on the series website at http://racingseries.midwestdirt.com
