DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 31) - It was a beautiful night for racing action as we celebrated the life of Jack Roth at the 1st annual Jack Roth memorial race. Fans enjoyed free can koozies and chances to win many door prizes.

Joel Callahan used his pole position to take the early race lead ahead of Mike Fryer and Ron Klein. By lap five Callahan had wheeled his late model to very impressive lead. On lap nine the fourth place car of Jason Rauen got a little wobbly and lost several positions putting Jeff Larson up to fourth. Larson moved into the second position on lap 13 but soon slowed after breaking bringing out the caution. Callahan continued to lead until lap 14 when Rauen and Callahan raced side by side for the lead and Rauen got the lead at the flag stand. As Rauen continued to lead the large crowd of fans saw Jim Brokus's number 35 car go from fifth to fourth and fourth to third. Rauen took home the win ahead of Luke Merfeld, Brokus, Callahan and Fryer.

Hope Schmerbach and Ryan Schroman made some excitement for the crowd when Schmerbach was racing for the second position right after the start and got wobbly and rolled on the backstretch and Schroman going head on into the turn three wall. All this excitment on lap one of the Limited Stock feature event. The excitment was not done yet. Thomas Thompson took the early race lead but was soon challenged for the lead position by Brian Kammerude. Thompson and Kammerude went side by side for the lead lap after lap until Kammerude lost his tire while battling. Thompson won the feature event ahead of Dalton Soppe, Justin Tharp, Steve Miller and Kammerude.

Other feature wins went to Ron Barker (Modified), Andrew Burks (Stock Car), Jarrett Franzen (B-Modified) and Jeremy Campbell (Farley Flyers)

Join us at the Dubuque Speedway on June 7th for a special appearance by the I.M.C.A. Late Models.
