Dave Seay JAMAICA, Va. (May 30) - It's been a long time coming for Scott Adams of Midlothian, VA and Eric Keck of Providence Forge, VA but on Saturday May 30th the wait came to an end for both drivers as each picked up career first victories at Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway on Chandler Chevrolet Night.
In the Victory Lap Late Model 35 lap feature Ben Bowie and Scott Adams led the field to green with Adams taking command from the outside leading lap 1 with Bowie working him to the inside as they headed back into turn 1.
By lap 8 Adams began working traffic with Bowie in tow. On lap 12 Stephen Evans, Matt Morgan and Joey Bounds went three wide for fifth with Evans holding the spot.
With the laps winding down Bowie made several attempts to take the lead from Adams but had to pay more attention to holding off Anthony Kincaid for second. Several late lap cautions led to a green, white checkered finish and Adams was up to the challenge as he held on to take home his career first victory in a late model.
"This has been a long time coming; we have worked really hard since getting into a late model to get this win. I knew when we were consistently running top five that a win would come soon and tonight it all came together," commented Adams in victory lane.
Following Adams to the finish were Ben Bowie, Davis Lipscombe,
