NEWBERRYTOWN, Penn. (May 23) - East Waterford's Steve Bailor collected $1,500 en route to his first career SSP Late Model victory at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. Jason Rochelle of Schnecksville also made his way to vicory lane winning the 15-lap Legends Cars main feature event by taking the lead on the final circuit over Bill Diehl. Roland Brown of Miller, MD won the 20-lap Classic Cars feature. Richard Pastor of Thurmont, Maryland won the PENNMAR Vintage Car feature. Shannon Weaver of Gettysburg won the inaugural Road Warrior feature event.
Alex Updegraff took command early into the 40-lap Late Model feature event. On a lap 9 restart, Steve Bailor moved past Updegraff to take the lead followed by Kyle Saylor. Saylor pursued Bailor throughout the remainder of the race, but was unable to pass him for the lead. Bailor held on to win the race and collected the $1,500 top prize along with more than $1,850 in gift certificates for racing parts from Credit Connection. Jake Jones came to the line in thrid, with Cam Zeigler and Chase Billet rounding out the top five. Qualifying heat races were won by Updegraff and Bailor.
