JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (May 22) - The Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series presented by Graphic Impressions sanctioned the May Mayhem event at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday evening and Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN would pick up the $1,500 payday in the A-Main event. Greg Johnson of Bedford, IN would also pick up a $1,500 payday by scoring the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature win, with Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN winning the Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Model feature, while Rick King of Junction City, KY won the Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman main event.

The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature would see Greg Johnson jump to the race lead, followed by Jimmy Crabtree, Bobby Wolter, Jr., Brandon Fouts, and Dustin Linville. Fouts would draw the caution for a flat tire on lap 2 and see his night finished. One circuit would be completed before Jason Hinkle drew the next caution flag for a spin in turn two, with Billy Jones sliding into the incident as well. With the green back out, Linville would now be third, followed by Mike Jewell and Anthony Adams, while Johnson remained on the point. Johnson would start the lapping process on lap 9, still holding the lead over Crabtree. The caution would wave again on lap 12 when Buzz Williams made contact with a slower car on the backchute and ending his night. The restart would have the front trio the same, while Jewell and Bobby Carrier, Jr. began would what be a torrid battle for the fourth position. The final caution flew on lap 17 when Joey Rigdon's mount slowed on the frontchute. Back underway, the front three again remained the same, with Johnson putting some distance between himself and Crabtree on this restart. Carrier, Jr. would inch past Jewell for fourth on the restart, with Jewell reclaiming fourth on lap 20, only to lose it back to Carrier, Jr. one tour later. Johnson would continue to pull away over the final five laps to score the victory in the Jeff and Eddie Harrod owned Harrod Farms/Central Painting/Perry's Auto Sales/Perry's Septic Service/Valvoline/MAC Tools sponsored #71 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered mount. Second through fifth would go to Crabtree, Linville, Carrier, Jr., and Jewell. Completing the top ten would be Larry Gray, Jr., Ernie Cordier, Jimmy Perkins, Joey Rigdon, and Anthony Adams. Fifteen entries saw Crabtree as top qualifier at 13.378 seconds and also winning the dash, while Jewell won the heat.
