QUINCY, Ill. (May 17) - Three new feature winners an one that has already been on a roll this season took feature event wins with Mark Burgtorf, Steven DeLonjay, Chris Larson and James Leffew all getting to the checkered flags first during Budweiser Rinella Distributing Night at the Races. Mother Nature was up to no good for the second week in a row as a short rain shower made the already heavy track untraceable until the track crew reworked it until it was ready to race on.

Mark Burgtorf used his low point average to start the Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event from the front row and made quick work of leading the field for every lap of the 30 lap main. Lonnie Bailey worked his way through the field from his fourth row starting spot to challenge Burgtorf over the final two laps after a restart for a Ron Elbe miscue in turn four. Bailey made a valiant charge to overtake Burgtorf but had to settle for the second followed by Justin Reed, Jason Perry and Joey Gower. Nick Ingalls and Clint Kirkham were the heat race winners with Ron Elbe taking home the hardware in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash Series.

Dave Wietholder looked like he was well on his way to his first feature win of the 2009 season in the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event as he took the lead on the second lap and maintained the top spot through twelve laps but Steven DeLonjay had an idea of his own. DeLonjay grabbed the lead on the thirteenth lap and held on the rest of the twenty five laps as a war was being waged behind him for the second through fifth positions. Ryan Meyer, Vance Wilson, Justin Reed and Tony Dunker traded positions every lap for the last ten circuits with Reed taking the second spot followed by Vance Wilson in third, Ryan Meyer in fourth and Tony Dunker in fifth. Meyer, Dunker and Michael Long were the heat race winners while Justin Reed grabbed the win in the Advance Trading Trophy Dash.

Jerry Jansen was on a mission with his Ford Triple R Machine Shop IMCA Stock Car from the drop of the green flag but Chris Larson had other ideas as he dogged Jansen through the first fifteen laps of the twenty lap main event while a war of attrition was going on back in the pack. Larson took over the lead when Jansen had a miscue on lap sixteen and held off Chris Wibbell over the final circuits for his first ever IMCA Stock Car feature event win. Wibbell settled for second followed by Levi Long in third, Jansen in fourth and Kevin Tomlinson in fifth. Levi Long and Sarah Woodhurst were the heat race winners.

Nathan Anders was looking for his first ever feature win in the Tim's Machine Shop Hobby Stock main event as he held the field at bay for the first seventeen times around the "Bull Ring" but it just was not to be as James Leffew took advantage of slight slip on turn four of lap eighteen to gain the lead. Leffew held the field off over the final laps to get his first feature win of 2009. The second spot went to Steve Carlin, third to Adam Scott, fourth to Larry Powell and fifth to Wes Mayfield. Carlin and Leffew garnered the wins in the heat races.
