George Baumann PLYMOUTH, Wisc. (May 16) - Fans who braved very cool temperatures were treated to an exciting night of racing Saturday at the Fair Park in Plymouth.
The Late Model A-Main was won by Russ Scheffler (Waukesha) who passed Chris Carlson (Greenfield) on the seventh lap.
Carlson took the early lead from his front row starting spot and quickly found himself being challenged, first by Kyle Odekirk (Waldo) and later by Scheffler. The race was slowed by a lap two spin in turn one, a lap later another spin in turn one brought out the yellow again.
Brad Mueller (Random Lake) and Randy Markwardt (Sheboygan) tangled on lap seven sending both cars to the rear of the field. Once in front, Scheffler was alone until brother Rick caught him and nearly pulled off a slick pass off turn four coming to the checkers. Rounding out the top-five were, Craig Schueffner (Sheboygan Falls), Odekirk, and Jim Schmidt (Cleveland).
Heat race winners were, Schueffner, Mueller and Rick Scheffler.
