WINCHESTER, Va. (May 9) - Saturday nite saw the first appearance of the new O'Reilly All Star series at the Winchester Speedway and a bumper crop of Late Models was the result with 40 cars signing in, the night would see Jamie Lathroum pull off an upset of sort besting the OAS field. Limited Lates saw Bryan Wright pick up his second win of the young season, Pure Stocks went to Matt Kerns taking his first win of the season, Roger Whitlock scored number three on the season in the 4-Cylinders, and Ed Blomquist would take his second of the year in the U-Car division.

Josh Richards of Shinnston, WV set fast time for the O'Reilly All Stars event, fastest amongst the 40 cars who took time. =2 04 Heats were run with Jeremy Miller, Jamie Lathroum, J.T. Spence, and Jason Covert. The two B-Mains went to Mike Lupfer and Andy Anderson. After the redraw Gerald Davis of Delray, WV and Robbie Blair of Titusville, PA saw themselves on the front row. At the green Robbie Blair slipped from the high side to jump into the lead over Gerald Davis. He would begin to set sail with the other 23 cars streaming behind him. With less that 10 laps complete the only caution of the evening came out when Bo Feathers of Winchester, VA got into the side of Andy Anderson of Martinsburg, WV with the result of the both of them spinning out in turn two also collecting Jared Hawkins in the pileup, all would return except for Feathers who would pull his Wayne Feathers owned number two for the night. Jamie Lathroum at the green was the man on the move as he dispatched Davis and moved into second setting up the battle for the night. Robbie Blair held a consistent five car lead as Lathroum threw his Ford into the corner every way possible trying to pull the leader in. As the race drifted past the halfway point Blair began to see lapped traffic in front of him, as the two leaders ran nose to tail in traffic, Lathroum looked for the way by Blair and as the two approached the ten to go point Lathroum slipped under Blair and after a couple laps Lathroum used the low side and leapt into the lead and Blair began to fade back. Over the final ten laps Lathroum pulled away, Blair meanwhile would fall into the clutches of Jason Covert who would pull past him in the waning laps to secure the win. Jamie Lathroum would secure his biggest career victory winning the $5,000 to win OAS sanctioned Lee Stultz Memorial, the Mechanicsville, MD driver having pulled away to a good lead in the final laps. Jason Covert would take second with Robbie Blair holding onto the third spot, Rick Eckert and Josh Richards, fast timer, would finish fifth on the night. J.T. Spence, DJ Myers, Gerald Davis, Ronnie DeHaven, Jr., and Andy Anderson would round out the top 10.
