EASTABOGA, Ala. (October 18) - James Cline started the 2008 racing season at Talladega Short Track with a win, and win the final checkered flag of the season flew on A chilly October Night he was once again in victory lane by claiming the win in the season finale at the Hornets Nest.
Terry Smith, the 2008 track champion, finished in the second spot with Stacey Holmes third. Fourth spot went to Dingus Griffin with Ross Martin rounding out the top five.
Jackson Hale won the Sportsman feature event over Michael Williams in second and Parrish Duncan third. Dustin Stewart picked up the 2008 Sportsman track championship.
Jerry Goodwin survived the wild Crate feature event for the win over Carlton Freeman who started fifteenth and finished second and Jimmy Elkins who finished third. Adam Martin won the 2008 Crate track championship to go along with his first place in Nesmith East Regional Championship.
Scottie Hiett won the twenty-lap IMCA Modified feature event over brother Jimmy Hiett in second and Eric Smith third. David Newton won the IMCA Modified 2008 TST track championship.
Tony Miles the 2008 Thundercar champion picked up the win in Thundercar action over Michael Blakeney in second and Al Reynolds third.
Eric Layfield won the Street Stock feature with Michael Skelton winning the Street Stock 2008 track championship. Timmy Runfola won the Hot Shot feature and 2008 track championship event.
The 2008 racing season has concluded at TST. The annual awards ceremonies will take place on Friday November 7th at the Oxford Civic Center in Oxford, AL. The 2009 racing season kicks off on New Years Day with the running of the annual IceBowl event taking place January 1st - 4th.
