(October 2) - Third generation racer Kayne Hickman of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee blew threw the field at the TARHEEL 50 Thursday night at the Tri-County Race Track, as mighty as the TN TORNATO logo on the top of his # H3 'Hickman H3 Performance, Paul's Auto Sales & Body Shop, Hickman Signs' Warrior / Ervin Hickman powered, Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Racing the likes of National racers; Josh McGuire (Kentucky) Terry Casey (Wisconsin) and Wayne Chinn (Ohio), Hickman went on to hold off MURPHY MAFIA contentment of racers that included; Jamie Oliver, THE X-MAN Shawn Chastain and Danny Ledford. It's the 20 year-olds first career Super Late Model victory after two seasons worth of competition on the Advance Auto Parts THUNDER series in 06' & 07'.
'It feels real good to get that first win.' stated Hickman, 'we've been here a handful of times and always run good, but last night it was perfect.' For most of 2008, Hickman's been dominating the local home-track on Friday's in Chattanooga. The Steel-Head Late Model division at Boyds Speedway hosted a special $1,000. to-WIN race last month and up until Thursday night's $3,500. payday that was Hickman's largest Late Model prize. 'This is real special, me and my dad and everyone with us back home have worked and worked and now it's paying off.'
