GADSDEN, Ala. (October 2) - Tony THE TIGER Morris handed Jake Knowles his second consecutive runner-up finish Thursday night, collecting the $3,000. ROAD TO DEGA crown at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama. Morris picked up his second win of the season grabbing the lead from Knowles with about 12 laps remaining in the 40 lap 'A' Main feature. Knowles was Sunday's runner-up in the Super Late Model portion of the Alabama State race in Phenix City. Morris set fast time among nineteen (19) SLM's, putting the # M31 'Morris Bros. Concrete & Construction, ASi Racewear, ALT Transportation, PPM Racing Products' TNT / Hickerson-Zanker powered, Ford Fusion on the pole with Knowles along side.

'This is awesome!' stated Morris after the race. I wanted Jake to know I was there so I kept after him and sure enough I was able to slide underneath him in turn 4.' After that it was hammer down as Morris knew 'LIL' MAN' was waiting in the wings, just behind Knowles. 'I am blessed to have such a great crew and team, with my family (brother Scott) and Dana on-board with us... and we definately couldn't do this without support from my sponsors like; Amy & Virgil Taylor, who've been with me for a long time. Morris is planning on entering Saturday's SHOOT-OUT at Dixie Speedway, before his Southern Regional Racing series heads to Chattanooga next Friday night.

Former BAMA BASH winner Wendall Wallace set third fastest time, but during the feature all eyes were on the CHATTANOOGA FLASH Ronnie Johnson. With Knowles leading, RJ began working the field from dead-last, as the late arrival, unloaded just prior to the feature. Anthony Burroughs was able to hold off Johnson from advancing into the Top 5 as Morris took the checkered flag. Tim Busha and James Cline raced to solid Top 5 finishes just infront of Burroughs and Johnson respectfully, with Wallace in third. Bo Shirley, Robert Gant and Doug King rounded out the Top 10 finishers.

Besides the dirt Super Late Models the Open Wheel Modified, the NeSmith Chevrolet Crate Late Models, the Super Street, Hobby Stocks and Limited Late Models were in action Thursday. Jason Hiett won the NeSmith Chevrolet Crate Late Model race, beating pole sitter Kasey Hall and 3rd qualifier Blake Stewart. 2007 NeSmith Crate series Rookie of the year Chip Brindle was 2nd with Jarrod Greene third. Mike Pearl won the Limited Late Model race over, Glenn Star and Eric Floyd. Marty Smith Jr. won the Super Street feature, with Ryan King winning the Hobby Stock race.
