Petaluma Speedway
PETALUMA, Calif. (September 19) - The M. Maselli and Sons Late Model Classic Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway just got a lot more interesting.

Why? Because throwing his hat into the ring and preparing to do battle with some of the best Dirt Late Model racers on the West Coast is a man who some thought just six months ago would never race again. Kellen Chadwick is signed up and ready to make his return to the race wars this Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last six months, you know the story. Kellen was racing in Phoenix, AZ in a Dirt Modified on February 22nd of this year. He was in a horrific crash and an ensuing fire only added to the nightmare that was unfolding. In that crash, Kellen suffered at least three fractures to the first seven vertebra in his neck. Since then, thousands of race fans across the country have sympathized with young Mr. Chadwick and have tried to help in any way possible, from donating to helmets passed around the stands at racetracks, to having benefit dinners to raise money to aid in Kellen's recovery. Six months after the crash that nearly ended his career, Kellen has recovered to the point where he has chosen September 20th to make his comeback and Petaluma Speedway is proud to host this courageous young man and welcome him back to the racetrack.

The racing community salutes you Mr. Chadwick. Welcome home.
