COAL GROVE, Ohio (September 13) - The 2008 season came to a close at Rocky Top Raceway on Saturday, September 13th. The season ended on a good note with a good crowd, great car count, and great racing!

In the 30 lap Late Model A-Main, Jackie Boggs and Greggie Oliver battled side by side for the lead at the start. Boggs and Oliver battled side by side for the first four laps with Boggs clearing Oliver on lap five to pull away to a five car length lead. With Boggs leading, the car on the move in the early going was Rod Conley. The Wheelersburg, Ohio driver started eighth and by lap ten had moved up to the second position! The caution flag would fly just as lap ten was completed as Conley was now right on the bumper of Jackie Boggs.

On the restart, Boggs and Conley would battle side by side for the lead for the next six laps with Boggs running nearly against the guardrail up top and Conley in the middle. On lap seventeen, into turn one, Boggs would have a little bit of trouble negotiating the cushion as Conley made the pass for the lead! The driver they call "Hot Rod" never looked back as Rod Conley took his first RTR win this season! Jackie Boggs finished second with Greggie Oliver third, Delmas Conley fourth, and Rod Evans in fifth. Greggie Oliver won the Tri-America Contractors Dash while Rod Conley and Rod Evans won Engines Inc. heat races. 21 Late Models were in attendance.
