COAL GROVE, Ohio (September 6) - After a one month break, racing resumed at the Rocky Top Raceway on Saturday, September 6th. This was the first time since September of 2005 that a Saturday night race has been held at RTR.

In the 30 lap Late Model A-Main, polesitter Joe Ramey took the lead at the start. Ramey and Greggie Oliver had a great side by side battle for the lead for the first ten laps with Oliver making the pass on lap eleven. Oliver appeared poised for victory until he dropped a driveshaft on lap twenty, handing the lead to Terry Hicks. With Hicks leading, all eyes were on the Bocook brothers Josh and Nick as they made their way up to second and third after starting deep in the field. A caution flag on lap 27 would set up a three lap dash for $2,000.

On the restart, Bocook put his #B1 machine on the high side and got a run on Hicks to go side by side at the flagstand. Into turn one, Hicks and Bocook made contact with both cars spinning! Hicks was charged with the caution and pulled off the track with damage while Bocook got his spot back. Josh Bocook led the final three laps to claim his first career Rocky Top win! Nick Bocook finished second with Butch Dowdy third, Joe Ramey fourth, and Tre Martin fifth. Terry Hicks and Greggie Oliver won Engines Inc. heat races.

The Tomahawk Race Car Modified A-Main saw several caution flags before the race would get one lap completed. When the race got going, nobody could touch Adam Jordan as he led every lap to take his second Rocky Top win in a row! J. D. Ritenour finished second with Craig Christian third, Adam Colley fourth, and Miles Cook fifth. Jordan won the Tri-America Contractors dash while Chuck Yeley and Jake Keaton won Engines Inc. heat races.

David Dunn took the lead at the start of the Bomber A-Main. Dunn pulled away in the early going as second place runner Brian Sammons started to reel him in around the lap five mark. Sammons got all the way up beside Dunn as the two battled side by side for the lead! With two laps to go, Dunn and Sammons were still battling side by side when Sammons got loose in turn two to allow Dunn to pull back away and claim his first win of the season! Sammons finished second with Wade Miller third, Jason Aldridge fourth, and Rick Butler fifth. Jason Aldridge and David Dunn won Engines Inc. heat races.

In the Mod Lite A-Main, Chris Stone took the lead at the start. The race took a dramatic turn around the halfway mark as Harold Kuhn and Tony Sites made contact down the backstretch which resulted in a spectacular crash that saw Sites flip over six times and collect Jerry Cushing who flipped three times! Thankfully both drivers were ok. When the race resumed, it was all Chris Stone as he took his fifth win of the season! Harold Kuhn finished second with Mike Weaver third, Jerry Cushing fourth, and Tony Sites fifth. Stone won the Engines Inc. heat race.
