PLYMOUTH, Wisc. (September 6) - Plymouth Dirt Track kicked off its second to last night of regular season racing this past Saturday under the fairground lights.
With the season finale coming next weekend, the points race got even tighter in three of the four regular divisions.
Late Models were first in the rotation for the night, and Billy "The Kid" Rezutek, Big Bend, continues his recent domination of the features, picking up his third feature win in the last four features over Craig Schueffner, Sheboygan Falls. Rezutek started eleventh, but was able to pick up spots quickly with the aid of a few cautions. Schueffner held his position for second. Brad Mueller, Random Lake, was third after starting tenth. Randy Markwardt, Sheboygan, was fourth, and Scott Sohrweide, Chilton, rounded out the top five after starting fourth.
At the start of the night Rezutek found himself 62 points behind leader Russ Scheffler, Waukesha, but with a great night of racing he pulled ahead of Scheffler by 26 points heading into the season finale.
Heat winners for the Late Model division were Bob Cullen, Chilton, Jim Schmidt, Cleveland, and Brad Mueller.
