EASTABOGA, Ala. (August 30) - Adam Martin entered the weekend trailing in the East Region of the Nesmith Weekly Racing Series point standings, but after a East Region Double Points race on Saturday and a victory, he should surge towards the top of the points.
Martin had to battle all race long with Jimmy Elkins as the two swapped the lead. Martin would hold on for the win with Elkins in second and Logan Yates in third.
In Super Late Model action, Terry Smith had a classic battle with Danny Peoples, before claiming the win and increasing his points lead. Tim Busha would finish in second spot with Stacy Holmes in third.
Michael Williams claimed the twenty-five lap sportsman feature event win over Mike Taylor in second and Joe Noojin third.
David Griffin picked up the win in IMCA Modified action over Scottie Hiett in second and David Conner Jr. in third.
Tony Miles picked up the win in Thundercar action over Al Reynolds in second and Eric Smith third.
Shane Ferguson won the Street Stock feature event with Corey Pressley winning the Hot Shot feature event.
Talladega Short Track will not be racing stock cars on Saturday September 6th as the speedway is hosting a big go-kart race this weekend, which will feature free grandstand admission with over 200 go-karts expected.
