SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (August 23) - What a picture perfect day for racing in Southern MN. Blue skies, a light breeze, mid 70's temp and it showed. The crowd was absolutely awesome on the night and the drivers showed up in force with 141 cars checking into the back gate on championship night at the speedway.
Mike Prochnow quickly took control of the Valley Featherlite WISSOTA Late Model feature with Lance Matthees quickly into second. Matthees pressured Prochnow early on in the race as they pulled away from the field. Nick Herrick ran in third until John Kaanta passed him for the position in the middle of the race. Adam Hensel was slowly working through the field after starting eleventh on the field and took home the fifth spot with five to go. At the finish it was Prochnow with the win, Matthees second. However upon crossing the scale Prochnow was too light handing the win to Matthees. Herrick took home the title for the 2008 racing season.
