LINVILLE CAPTURES FOURTH GOOD NEIGHBOR PHARMACY SLM WIN AT PONDEROSA SPEEDWAY

Dirt Late Model

JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (August 22) - The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature would prove to be a dandy as front row starters Dustin Linville and Jordan Bland would trade six slidejobs over the course of the first four laps, trading the lead officially three times in those four laps, before Bland would secure the race lead on lap 5. With Jeff Watson running third, Jason Keltner fourth, and Michael Chilton fifth, the front pair of Bland and Linville would race away from the pack in an effort to settle the issue in this event among themselves. Linville would look beneath Bland on numerous occasions, but could not muster the strength to pass last week's feature winner. The only caution of the race waved on lap 17 when Bobby Wolter, Jr. would spin his machine in turn four and leave the track via the tow truck hook, ending his evening. The restart would see Chilton take fourth from Keltner in turn two, while Bland and Linville renewed their battle for the top spot. Linville would pull alongside Bland off of turn two as the pair raced toward the white flag and would race down the backchute on the final lap, with Linville firing one last slidejob pass on Bland in turn four to take the lead, with Bland looking to the inside to return the favor, with Linville holding on for the win, while Bland would loop his machine down the frontchute and make heavy contact with the inside retaining tires, crossing the finish line sideways to finish second. Linville's victory was his fourth of the season at Ponderosa aboard the Bruce Barnes owned Barnes Family Dentistry/Linville's Finish Carpentry/Paul Benton Auto Body/Lester Grider Trucking/Budda Transmissions/BG Oil/Cookie Monster Power Plants/Skillsaw Designs/DJ Safety/Heritage Closing Agency sponsored #D8 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered machine. Watson, Chilton, and Keltner would complete the top five. Bland was the Wayne Bowen Racing Supply top qualifier, while Linville won the heat.
