WILLIAMSBURG, Ohio (August 8) - It was another beautiful Friday night at Moler Raceway Park as the Vintage American Race Cars made their inaugural visit to the ¼ mile track in Williamsburg, Ohio. At the end of their exhibition race it was Sinking Springs, Ohio John Lawhorn taking the 15 lap feature event in his 1970's era USAC Champ Car. Just behind Lawhorn was Wilmington's Mike Mason in his 1970's V.W. midget with Chuck Faulkner in his 1960's era super modified right behind them in 3rd spot.

In regular racing action it was Milan, Indiana's Bill Sheets once again setting fast time in the Sunesis Construction Late Models with a 12.829 lap. In heat race action it was John Whitney and Tom Sheets taking 10 lap heat race wins. In the feature event it was Whitney leading early with Tom Sheets right behind him until lap 8 when Sheets spun out directly in front of 3rd place Shawn Negangard and Bill Williams. On the restart (with Sheets restarting from the tail) Negangard would battle Whitney but to no avail as Whitney would pull away the longer they ran under green flag conditions. At the finish it was Whitney in his Barker Fab & Machine, Cory Robbins, Sauls Construction, Stephan Heating and Cooling sponsored machine taking his second feature win in the last three weeks. Following Whitney was Shawn Negangard, Bill Williams, Josh Tidwell, and Chad Stapleton.

Moler Raceway Park will be back in action next week on August 15th, featuring the 2nd Annual Victor "IKE" Moler Memorial. The race is a tribute to "The man with a dream". Ike Moler is one of the original pioneers of Southern, Ohio dirt track racing. Ike opened the Mt. Orab Speedway in the 50's, and now his dream continues with his grandson Kevin and his wife Kim. Kevin and Kim continue the dream with help from the entire Moler family.

The Ike Moler Memorial will feature the Sunesis Construction Late Models paying $3000 to win and $225 to start, Cheapbowlingballs .com U.M.P Modifieds $800 to win and $125 to start, Phantom Fireworks Pure Stocks $400 to win $50 to start, MRP Chevettes $300 to win $50 to start and the Mid-west 1000cc Mini-Sprints.
