MILEY ROCKETS TO THIRD UMP LATE MODEL FEATURE WIN AT LERNERVILLE SPEEDWAY

SARVER, Penn. (August 3) - Despite threatening weather in the forecast, on the radar and in the skies behind the main grandstands, not a drop of rain hit the Action Track Friday Night. When the night was complete, three drivers added to their impressive season stats, while a familiar face made a return to victory lane after a five year layoff. The folks from Flynn Tire were on hand to sponsor the evening and the Central Blood Bank Mobile Unit was on site for the annual blood drive In Memory of Rosalie Bolland and Sandra Winkle.

Jared Miley spent last Friday Night battling the World of Outlaws Late Models at Eldora Speedway. This Friday Night, Miley was back in action and, like Lynch, started from 12th place on the starting grid, (due to last week's feature winner starting from the tail, more on that below!). Early leader and traditional low groove specialist Ken Schaltenbrand (#29 of Sarver) appeared to be on his way to win number two of the season before blowing the right rear on lap 13. Sam Stile (#2S of Charleroi) inherited the lead on lap 14 but it would be short lived. On lap 15, Jared Miley (#H1 of South Park) passed four cars after rocketing off of turn four, then picked off leader Sam Stile on lap 16. Stile fought back and temporarily retook the lead exiting turn two and down the back straightaway, but Miley once again rung the top cushion and took the lead. Stile took one last run at Miley on the lap 20 restart, but Miley was too fast around the top groove amd he checked out to claim his third Friedman's Freshmarkets UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model feature of the season.

Sam Stile ran a solid race chasing Schaltenbrand, then Miley, before finally crossing the stripe second. Gregg Satterlee (#22 of Rochester Mills), Alan Dellinger (subbing for the vacationing Mike Blose in the #5) and Keith Barbara (#17 of South Park) dueled for most of the race before rounding out the top five. Spots six through ten went to Gary Lyle, Russell King, John Mollick and Chuck Kennedy. Dellinger, Stile and Miley won their respective heat races.

Reigning Track Champion and current Bud Points leader Alex Ferree (#4 of Saxonburg) blew a motor in his heat, sent the hauler home and brought back the 2007 championship winning car. As such, he had to tail a loaded 26 car field. He made his way to the top ten midrace, but ran into a lapped car on the front straightaway on lap 14. From the tail a second time, Ferree once again made his way towards the front, finishing a very impressive seventh place.

Join us next week as the Budweiser Points Championship pursuit continues on ARCH Fan Club and Express Care Night with Fab Four Racing. And mark your calendars for the rescheduled School Bus, Kid's Bike and Enduro Race on Tuesday August 12. More Enduro registrations come in daily and a full field is expected for another exciting 100 lapper! If you missed last year's return of Enduro racing to Lernerville Speedway, you need to see this exciting, rolling demolition derby. It is truly a sight to behold. Kids of all ages will have a great time and tons of laughs! There are also two more big shows on the 2008 schedule. Friday August 29 is the Cleveland Brothers CAT Jim Shank Memorial featuring the Thunder of the MACS Late Model Series and the Lightning of the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprints. Also on the card that night will be a cash-only Advance Auto Parts UMP DIRTcar Street Stock race in the final tune-up for the Annual Autumn-Motive Fest. The Advance Auto Parts Autumn-Motive Fest is a two-day show, (September 12-13), that will feature Modified Madness with the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series, Small Block Mods and Mod Lites on Friday Night and the Street Stock Pandemonium, UMP Pro (Crate) Late Models and another 100-lap Enduro on Saturday Night. The entire 2008 Schedule is viewable at www.Lernerville.com.
