Delph Communications CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (July 31) - Saturday night, July 26, 2008 will go down as a date Jordan Bland will never forget, as the young Campbellsville, Kentucky native captured his first career Dirt Late Model feature victory at the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky! Jordan qualified well and later won the dash to earn the pole position for the main event. The driver of the B&W Metals / Longshot Farms / Osborne Construction / Bay Insulation / Wave Length Hair Salon / Cox Auto Repair / Stuckey Enterprises #12 MasterSbilt / Pro Power entry then took the lead at the drop of the green flag and never relinquished it en route to a convincing $1,000 triumph over Johnny Wheeler, Dustin Neat, Lee Devasier, and Jarryd Holshouser!
Earlier in the weekend, the Bland Motorsports team invaded the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Friday for the annual running of the 'Subway 50.' The World of Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned the event, which drew a stout field of Dirt Late Models vying for the $10,000 top prize. Jordan ran strong throughout the evening, but unfortunately could not put his #12 into the A-Main after finishing ninth in his heat race and seventh in the B-Main. "The win was a long, long time coming," exclaimed Bland this week! "I have to thank my mom and dad, my entire family, and everyone that is associated with Bland Motorsports. The car performed flawlessly all night at Bardstown and it was awesome that I could pick up my first win there. I cut my teeth racing at Bardstown, so that made the win even more special. Hopefully, there are more victories around the corner for us in the near future!"
The Bland Motorsports team will trek to the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky and the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky this upcoming weekend for a pair of Independent Racing Series (IRS) and O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series co-sanctioned races. Both events on August 1 and 2 will pay $5,000 to the winner. You can learn more about the doubleheader weekend by accessing www.irsracing.net and www.battleofthebluegrass.com.
