BARDSTOWN, Ky. (July 29) - Bluegrass Speedway is back in action this Saturday evening August 2 at the David and Anita Ferrell promoted ½ mile clay oval located just minutes from beautiful and historic Bardstown, KY. The event will be the 6th Annual My Old Kentucky Home Shootout, paying $5,000 to win for the Super Late Models.

The Saturday August 2 racing program will feature a co-sanctioned event of O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series and the Independent Racing Series Super Late Models in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, dash, B-Mains, and the 50 lap, $5,000 to win 6th Annual My Old Kentucky Home Shootout A-Main. Also in action on August 2 will be a full program of racing action for the Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds ($500 to win) and Street Stocks ($200 to win, courtesy of Carey Competition Engines of Junction City, KY), while the WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman will be off. The Super Late Models and Street Stocks will time trial, while the Modified division will pill draw for heat race starting assignments.

Activities for the racing event on August 2 will see the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m., while the grandstand area will be open at 5:00 p.m. The driver's meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m., with hot laps set to go at 6:30 p.m., time trials for the Super Late Models will go at 7:00 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at or before 8:00 p.m. Ticket prices will be $20 in the general admission area for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $10, and children under age 6 will be free. Admission to the pit area will be $35.

Bluegrass Speedway will once again be an associate of the Contingency Connection program for the 2008 race season, which allows those drivers who sign up, at no cost to the drivers, to be eligible for valuable product discounts and other prizes. For 2008, the Contingency Connection will award over $150,000 in prizes through their program across the country at the 60 oval tracks involved in this prestigious program. Winners for July 26 included Dion Benningfield of Lebanon, KY in Modifieds and Avral Thompson of Loretto, KY in Sportsman.

Bluegrass Speedway last raced on July 26 and feature event winners for that evening included Jordan Bland of Campbellsville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, and Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman.

Track championship points leaders heading into the August 2 racing program are Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in 44 Auto Mart Super Late Models, Jason Wheatley of Loretto, KY in Kentucky Cooperage Modifieds, Roger Cecil of Bardstown, KY in WBRT 1320-AM Sportsman, and Jason Priddy of Weasetown, KY in Street Stocks.
