JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (July 25) - Ponderosa Speedway returned with race action after a week layoff and Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY would take top honors in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model main event for the third time this season, while Gary Yeager of Harrodsburg, KY would score his second Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Model feature victory of the season. Benji Lee of Raywick, KY would nab his fifth Hardee's Modified feature win of the year at Ponderosa Speedway, while Rick King of Junction City, KY would claim his 4th SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman feature victory of the '08 race campaign.

In the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature, Dustin Linville would take the lead at the drop of the green flag and never look back as the 17 year old Super Late Model rookie competitor would lead all 25 circuits of the Super Late Model main event. The second-generation pilot would score his third win of the season at Ponderosa behind the wheel of the Bruce Barnes owned, Barnes Family Dentistry/Linville's Finish Carpentry/Paul Benton Auto Body/ Lester Grider Trucking/Budda Transmissions Sales and Service/BG Oil/Cookie Monster Power Plants/Heritage Closing Agency/Skillsaw Designs/DJ Safety sponsored #D8 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars, Jay Dickens Race Engines powered machine. Michael Chilton, Jake Henry, and Brian Marksbury would complete the finishing order. Linville would also be the Wayne Bowen Racing Supply top qualifier at 14.371 seconds and also won the heat.

The Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Model feature event would see Gary Yeager outduel Tommy Carlton in the early stages of the 20 lap Pro Late Model feature race and drive away from the field as the race wore on to claim his second win of the season at Ponderosa Speedway aboard his Yeager Insulation/Superior Drywall/Perry's Auto Sales sponsored #28 C.J. Rayburn Race Cars unit. Carlton would claim runner-up honors, with Todd Coffman nipping Zane Morgan at the finish for third, while Bobby Hartrum would complete the top five. Yeager would be the Wayne Bowen Racing Supply top qualifier with a lap of 14.989 seconds, while Carlton would score the heat victory.

Jason Wheatley would lead the first five laps of the 20 lap Hardee's Modified feature event before Benji Lee would overtake Wheatley on lap 6, with Lee surviving a late race caution that set up a two lap sprint to the finish to claim his fifth Modified feature victory of the season at Ponderosa and his fourth in a row. Lee's winning ride would be in the seat of the Thompson Heat and Air/B&B Motorsports/Springfield Auto and Farm/Smart Shoppers/Kirker Automotive Finishes/ St. Joe Garage/Brian Ballard Motorsports sponsored #03 Bandit Race Cars, Dale Meers Race Engines mount. Wheatley would finish second, with Randy Turpin taking third. Don Adams and J.T. Ayers would complete the top five. Lee was the Wayne Bowen Racing Supply top qualifier with time of 15.213 seconds. Wheatley would take the dash win, while heat race checkered flags would go to Dion Benningfield and Rocky Wilson.

The SkyTower Power Race Engines feature event would see Rick King and Gerald Haynes, Jr. battle door to door for the race lead for the first five laps of the 15 lap feature event before King would gain control on lap 6 and pull away to his fourth win of the season at Ponderosa in his 3D Trucking/The Muffler Shop/G-Funk Chassis/Brute Force Motors/The Brake Shop/Stanford Glass/ Integrity Metals/Big Daddy Hobby Shop/Death Valley Kennels/Wayne Bowen Racing Supply sponsored #13D Chevy Monte Carlo. Bartley Grant would make a late race pass of Haynes, Jr. to score a second place finish, with Haynes, Jr. finishing third. The remainder of the top five would be Troy Scott and Logan Whitis. Grant would be the Wayne Bowen Racing Supply top qualifier at 16.256 seconds, while King would capture the heat win.
