MANITOWOC, Wisc. (July 25) - Even though there was no snow in the forecast, EWSC celebrated Christmas in July with prizes given to the fans.  Bank First National sponsored a nickel drop for kids with special coins mixed in redeemable for savings bonds.  Holiday House of Manitowoc also enjoyed a night at the races.   With a fast track, the fans at the Manitowoc County Expo Speedway were treated to some great racing action.

Frank Geiger of Whitelaw took the lead of the 25 lap Late Model feature at the drop of the green flag.  Cleveland's Jim Schmidt was chasing him down until Milwaukee's Turk Letizia got together with Schmidt, sending both cars to the back of the field.  This handed Craig Schueffner of Sheboygan Falls second place.  Oostburg's Todd Jensema was chasing Geiger and Schueffner and on lap 11 passed Schueffner for second.  On lap 15, Jensema found himself crossing the line in front of Geiger.  The field would be stopped for a major mishap on the backstretch retiring 5 cars to the pits for the remainder of the race.  Jensema paced the field back to the green and showed the way to the checkers for his 2nd feature win of the year at Manitowoc Expo followed by Gordie Seegert of Oostburg, New London's Justin Ritchie, Ron Berna of Green Bay, and Schueffner.  Jensema picked up the extra winnings donated by Baleigh Industrial of Manitowoc.

Racing continues next Friday, August 1st with EWSC honoring the fire and police departments.   Check out EWSC's website, www.EWSCracing.net, for updated points and other info.
