BATESVILLE, Ark. (July 24) - The Wendell Wallace Autosports team literally traveled down the road to the nearby Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas over the July 18-19 weekend for a pair of MSRA and DLRA co-sanctioned events. On Friday night, July 18, Wendell Wallace ran third in his heat race before rallying for a strong runner-up effort to winner Jack Sullivan in the night's 35-lap, $2,000 to win main event. The driver known as the "Batesville Bullet" then won his heat race on Saturday to earn the pole position for the $3,000 to win A-Main. After leading early, Wendell was forced to settle for another second place performance behind winner Jack Sullivan.
