Dave Seay JAMAICA, Va. (July 24) - Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway returns back to action this Saturday July 26th to host Budweiser / WFLS "Jamaican Me Crazy" Night. Take a trip to Jamaica (Virginia that is) and have the time of your life. Any fan wearing their favorite Hawaiian Beach Shirt will be admitted free.
See the Victory Lap Late Models, Budweiser Modified, New Generation Racing Sprint Car and Limited Stock Car divisions in action. Always exciting, action packed real value and real excitement for the entire family. Come experience the raw, pure excitement that is dirt racing!
Competitor gates for Saturday, July 26th will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 4pm. On track activities will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps. Divisions scheduled to race on Saturday July 26th: Victory Lap Late Models (40 Laps); Budweiser Modifieds (25 Laps); New Generation Racing Sprint Cars (25 Laps); and the Limited Stock Cars (20 Laps). All divisions will run Hot Lap Time Trials and Features.
Adult admission is just $10, Senior and Military $8, Students 13 -17 yrs old $7, Children 7 - 12 yrs old $4 and Children 6 and under free. The Speedway offers a Family Pack for two adults and two children 12 and under for only $20. Also check our website for discount coupons.
Next Saturday night (August 2nd) is Capitol Boiler Works "Kids in Uniform" Night. Parents, all kids showing up in their baseball, soccer, Boy Scout or Girl Scout uniform will be admitted free.
Put August 9th on your calendar as the Speedway will host the $10,000 to win, 29th Annual Miss Utility USA 100. This year there is yet another twist as the event will be co-sanctioned by the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series and the Carolina Clash. Two of the east coasts premier super late model series will go head to head in a true North versus South battle for bragging rights and the top prize.
The Speedway will be hosting a food drive for the Central Virginia Food Bank on Saturday August 16th with the help of Pepsi, Comcast and Clear Channel Communications. The Central Virginia Food Bank's shelves are in need of stocking so anyone bringing in four non-perishable items will get in free. That's four items per ticket (Good for grandstand admission only). The top 5 food items/categories needed by the CVFB are Canned Fish & Meats; Peanut Butter; Canned Fruits & Vegetables; Hot & Cold Cereals and Pasta & Rice.
Bill Sawyer's Virginia Motor Speedway, an ASA Member Track affiliate, is a ½ mile dirt oval track located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland and the Hampton Roads area.
