George Baumann PLYMOUTH, Wisc. (July 12) - Plymouth Dirt Track Racing honored area firefighters and paramedics prior to the start of the nights program. Then the only heat of the night began on the race track with plenty of excitement.
Feature race wins went to Earl Possi in the Sprint division, Brad Dahmer in the Grand Nationals, Scott Specht in the Late Models and Jason Juech in the Outlaw Compacts.
Late Models took their turn and it would end in dramatic fashion. Scott Specht (Sheboygan Falls) passed race leader Rick Scheffler on the outside coming off turn four on the final lap after Scheffler who had lead the entire race got slowed down behind a car they were about to lap.

On lap twelve Specht was able to use the outside line to get past both Odekirk and Letizia setting his sights on Scheffler again. After it looked like Scheffler would prevail the patience of Specht paid off in a big way in the final turn on the final lap esxciting the large crowd.
Scheffler would finish just ahead of Odekirk, Letizia, and former track champion Dan Sorce (Franklin).
