FLORENCE, Ky. (July 8) - We are rapidly approaching our biggest race of the year as the start of the 26th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil weekend is less than one month away. On August 7th-9th the eyes of the racing world turn to Florence Speedway as we host one of the Crown Jewels of the Dirt Late Model season. This has become one the top races in the country as the biggest names in the sport come to compete to be the North/South 100 champion. This year, Sunoco Race Fuels has come on board, along with Lucas Oil Products, to join Florence Speedway in presenting the $50,000 top prize and impressive $2,500 to start. Anticipation for this event is always high, and this year is no exception. Advance ticket sales are well ahead of last years record pace and reserved seats are going quick with some sections approaching sell out levels. Remember, rows 11 and up in all grandstand sections on both the front and backstretches are reserved for this race. The open seating sections(rows 1-10) fill up quickly, so the the only way to guarantee yourself a seat for this race is to purchase your seats in advance. As an incentive to get you to purchase your tickets early, advance two day passes are available at a discounted price till July 31st. After that date, including the day of the race, tickets and seats will be available at full price. Fan Appreciation Night this weekend!
This weekend, at Florence Speedway, is one of the most anticipated nights of the year as we host our annual Fan Appreciation Night. This night and it's intermission activities have become of of the more popular nights at the track all season. The highlight of the evening is the intermission activities where the fans are allowed to go out on the track and see the cars and meet the drivers they cheer for every week. There will be plenty of opportunities to take pictures and get autographs with your favorite drivers, so make sure you don't miss out. On the card this weekend will be regular shows for the Late Model, Modified, Super Dirt Stock and Pure Stock divisions. As a reminder, due to the intermission activities, the nights racing program will be starting half an hour earlier with hot laps beginning at 6pm and racing starting at 7pm.
