BRIGHT, Ind. (July 3) - Scott James and his #83 Dirt Late Model team traveled to the nearby Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana last Friday night, June 27.  The UMP Summernationals tour rolled into the newly-reconfigured speedplant and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Scott laid down the fifth quickest lap in his group during qualifying and later finished fourth in his heat race.  Following a strong second place effort in the B-Main, the driver known as the "Silver Shark" rolled off from the outside of the seventh row for the 40-lap main event.  Despite a spin that sent him to the tail, Scott was still able to bring his Powell Motorsports / Baylor Trucking / Welsh Excavation & Development / New Vision Graphics #83 Rocket / Jay Dickens entry home in the eighth position after forty green flag racing laps around the 3/8-mile, high-banked venue.  You can view complete results from Lawrenceburg online at www.umpracing.com.

The Jam-Pow Motorsports team will jump back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail this upcoming weekend, as the series hosts a trio of races in Ohio and Tennessee.  A tripleheader weekend consisting of three $10,000 to win events will be held at the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio (July 3), the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee (July 4), and the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee (July 5).  Scott comes into the 4th of July holiday weekend sixth in the latest series point standings.  You can learn more about each of these shows online at www.lucasdirt.com.
