Challenger Raceway INDIANA, Penn. (June 27) - The Unified Force Race Championship Tour presented by Comcast will roar back into action with 2 events in July. The 34th Annual "Yankee Doodle" will pay $7,000 to win for UFo Super Late Models on July 3 at the Central PA Speedway and the 2nd annual "Red Miley 53" will pay $5,300 to win on Sunday, July 13 at Pittsburgh 's PA Motor Speedway.
Excitement is building for the prestigious "Yankee Doodle" presented by CNB Bank and the Navasky Foundation for Life at the Central PA Speedway on Thursday, July 3. A record $7,000 will be paid to the winner of the "Area 51"-lap feature event. The new ownership and management of the speedway has also increased payoff for all feature positions for this event. The feature event will start 28 cars including 2 UFo and 2 track provisionals. The Pro-Street Stocks will compete in their 3rd race of the 4-race "Street Stock Shoot-Out Series" with $1,000 going to the winner.
The "Yankee Doodle" will mark the 2nd appearance of the UFo Super Late Models in 2008. John Flinner of Zelienople , PA won the first event after starting 24th on the grid. Much effort has been concentrated on the track surface in the recent month, with excellent results for the recent Outlaw Sprint race. The "Yankee Doodle" is the highest paying event in the area during the holiday weekend, so a strong field of drivers is expected. The rain date for the "Yankee Doodle" is Friday, July 4.
Event activities and promotions include a pre-race concert by Generation Z at 4:30 and an appearance by Miss Central PA Speedway prior to the event. The Navasky Foundation, which raises funds to assist families that are battling cancer as well as cancer research, will be distributing a free "One Less Tear" cd to all fans in attendance. Super Late Model entry fee is $75, with no membership fees or tour license fees required.
Tickets for the "Yankee Doodle" will be $25 for adults, $22 for seniors 65 and over, $10 for juniors 6-15 and $30 for the pits. Trackside parking is $5 for each car. Pit gates will open at 1:00 PM, grandstand gates at 2:00 PM and racing is slated to start at 7:00 PM.
The UFo Race Championship Tour presented by Comcast will return to Pittsburgh 's PA Motor Speedway also for the 2nd time in 2008 for the "Red Miley 53" on Sunday, July 13. $5,300 will await the winner of the 53-lap championship race. The championship feature will again see a 32-car starting grid including 2 UFo and 2 track provisionals. This event will offer a double deal for late model fans as the Semi-Lates will compete for $600 to win in their championship event. The B-Cadets will also be on the program paying $400 to the winner. The Semi-Lates & B-Cadets will use the combined special rules package that allows virtually all area cars in those classes to be legal with weight and spoiler variances for different motor types. An open tire rule will be in effect for all three classes.
The first appearance of the UFo Super Late Models at PPMS saw nine lead changes in the twin 30-lap features with Steve Baker from Fairmont , WV winning the first race after re-taking the lead on the final lap, and Al Atallah of Bridgeville , PA winning the 2nd race from his 12th place starting position. This event was filmed by Viewpoint Productions for the Comcast cable network and Comcast subscribers can still view the amazing 3 and 4 wide action by using their Comcast On Demand service, and going to the Your Town folder.

Pit gates at PPMS will open for the "Red Miley 53" at 3:30, spectator gates at 4:00, warm-ups at 6:00 and racing at 7:00. Adult admission will be $20, Seniors, $19, Junior 13-16 $15, Children 7-12 $5 and Pits $32. The rain date for the Red Miley 53 is Sunday, July 20.

The average feature winner's starting position is 10 ½. 18 lead changes have taken place in the 4 features with an average of 4.5 lead changes for each feature race.
