Bob Appleget CHATSWORTH, Ga. (June 24) - BJ Parker's Southern Thunder Late Model Series will make a stop at North Georgia Speedway next Friday night. The Late Model event will pay $2,500 to the winner.
"BJ parker is a legend in short track racing. He is know for bringing in a good show where the racing does the talking not the series hype," said North Georgia promoter Monty Morrow. "We are looking for a good field of Late Models and plenty of action Friday night."
The 35 lap Late Model Special will pay $2,500 to the winner. Hebling and Brown Construction has put up $100 for each heat winner and there are a number of additional bonuses that are being worked on and will be announced later in the week. On top of the Late Model Special there will be racing in all divisions, Limited/Crate Late Models, Hobby, Pony and Econo Bombers.
Pits will open at 4 pm, grandstrands at 5 pm with racing at 7:30 pm. Grandstand tickets are $15 for adults, kids 6 to 11 are $3 and under six are free. Pit admission is $25.
North Georgia Speedway will not be racing on the Fourth of July. The staff and management hopes everyone will have an enjoyable and safe holiday. The speedway will be back in action on Friday July 11 with a full racing program featuring the Mid Season Championship event for the Pony cars.
