TRUMANN, Ark. (June 12) - Kyle Beard turned a couple of hot Arkansas nights into a pair of top ten finishes last weekend behind the wheel of his #86 GRT By Frye/Samuels Performance Racing Engine Super Late Model.
Kyle kicked the weekend off at the scene of his first feature win of 2008, as he invaded Beebe Speedway in Beebe, Arkansas for a $1,500 to win Arkansas Motorsports Professionals (AMP) event. Beard won his heat race and started 5th in the feature event. By lap 10 he was up to the second position and battling for the lead. Beard would battle for the lead until lap 20, when he jumped the cushion in turns one and two causing him to spin. Kyle went to the back of the pack and charged back to a 9th place finish.
On Saturday night, the action shifted to Central Arkansas Speedway in Plumerville, Arkansas. Kyle started 5th in his heat race, and charged to a 2nd place finish, which via passing points earned him a 4th starting position for the feature event. Beard once again moved into the second position early in the 30 lap event, but was unable to overtake the leader, and recorded a strong 2nd place finish.
The 2008 season will continue for Beard Motorsports this weekend as they once again enter a pair of AMP Late Model Series events in the state of Arkansas. On Friday night, Beard will make the short trip to Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas for a $1,500 to win event around the 3/8 mile, red clay oval. On Saturday night, the action shifts to I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas. Once again $1,500 will be up for grabs as Beard looks to avenge a strong run at the ¼ mile back in April that was abruptly ended by an infield tire..
