CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (June 9) - Richie Stephens of Phenix City, AL and Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS continue to lead their respective Regions of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series after Week 11 of the season that runs through October 12. Stephens picked up his sixth win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.

Stephens has accumulated 628 points in 15 starts in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region. With the top 16 point finishes of the season counting towards a driver's Regional point total, Stephens has one more race to compile full points. After that, he will begin netting points where his worst point finish will be replaced by a better point finish.

Several drivers behind Stephens will than have an opportunity to close in on the East Region points leader, as they approach the 16 start mark.

Larry Harrod of Plains, GA and Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL are tied for second to Stephens in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region with 486 points. Harrod has 12 starts, and Edge has 14 starts.

Adam Martin of Talladega, AL could begin to make a move on Stephens in the coming weeks, as he is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region with 482 points in just 10 starts. Martin collected his third win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL is fifth in the East Region standings with 474 points in 11 starts, and Blake Stewart of Centre, AL is sixth with 471 points in 11 starts after taking the win on Friday night at Fort Payne Motor Speedway in Fort Payne, AL. Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL is seventh with 460 points in 13 starts, and Anthony Meadows of Lanett, AL is eighth with 447 points in 11 starts.

Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL and Dillon Crim of Eastaboga, AL are tied for the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region with 444 points. Elkins has 10 starts, and Crim has 12 starts.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region action on Saturday night, Mark Barber of North Vernon, IN took his first win of the season at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN, and William Thomas of Phenix City, AL posted his second win of the season at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL.

Keeton, the defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion is still in a position to collect his third straight title, as he leads the West Region standings with 539 points in 12 starts.

Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS is in the second spot in the West Region with 489 points in 13 starts after picking up his first win of the season on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third with 404 points in 10 starts, and Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL is fourth with 397 points in 10 starts.

Chris Griffin of Flomaton, AL is fifth with 350 points in nine starts, and Heath Gibson of Brewton, AL is sixth with 342 points in nine starts. Micha McCall of Flomaton, AL is seventh with 341 points in 10 starts, and Talbert Goldman of Meridian, MS is eighth with 336 points in eight starts.

Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL kept his perfect season alive on Saturday night with his series-leading seventh straight win in as many starts at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL. That moved Clifton into the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 326 points.

Seth Gransberry of Century, FL rounds out the top ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 311 points in 10 starts. Six of the top ten drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings are regular competitors at Flomaton Speedway.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region action on Saturday night, Danny Joe Thomas of Foley, AL recorded his third win of the season at A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA, and Davin Bates of Roseland, LA picked up his first win of the season at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS. Chad Thrash of Meridian, MS topped a 26-car field at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS for his second win of the season.
